We have dinner planned for Friday, and I have already told him that going back to my place afterward is a possibility, not a promise. He says that is fine. He is happy to drive to my city just for dinner. That part feels straightforward. What I cannot picture is how we would move from a first date into the dominant/submissive dynamic we have been discussing all week.
I am 27, and he is 33. We matched on Feeld, where I had started looking for something I have wanted for a while. With previous boyfriends, I generally preferred being the more submissive partner during sex. Some elements were familiar, but the fuller dynamic I was curious about never really developed. Wanting it is an old feeling. Meeting someone specifically to explore it is new.
Over messages, we have clicked. There is physical attraction, but there is also ordinary conversation about our days, and he makes me laugh. He says he has more experience, and that is the impression I get from him too. So far, I have found him respectful and willing to answer questions. Those are my impressions from a week of talking; we still have to meet in person.
We have talked about limits and agreed on safewords. Alongside that, we have been trying a very small version of the dynamic: a morning check-in, playful points for being a good girl, and him picking up on spelling mistakes in my texts. There is no demand to address him formally all the time or suddenly organize my whole life around him. It has mostly been flirting, with a little structure around it.
That leaves room for my usual personality. I joke around, and sometimes I push back playfully. Over text, I can generally tell when we are teasing and when he is responding to that side of me within the dynamic. In person, I wonder whether I will feel that same ease. A message gives me time to find my words. Sitting across from him will be different.
The dinner itself is not what makes me nervous. It is the possible beginning afterward. If we get along and I want him to come home with me, I do not know what those first few minutes would look like. I cannot imagine instantly becoming perfectly composed and following his lead without a trace of awkwardness. I might feel embarrassed. I might laugh because I am nervous, even while wanting to be there.
I keep wondering whether asking him to talk through what we might try would help me picture it. We have discussed what is and is not welcome, but that does not give me a sense of the transition. I know something about my preferences. I do not yet know what it will feel like to share this particular dynamic with him.
He has made clear that dinner does not have to lead to anything else. Friday is still ahead of us. For now, we have a date arranged, a week of chemistry in messages, and a beginning I am curious about but cannot quite imagine.
